How to Ink Your Cuttlebug Folder for Unique Results

Have you ever inked your Cuttlebug Folder?

Well, have you?  I hadn't.  In fact, I had to try it when I saw it.  The technique is THAT cool.  :-)

And you don't have to limit yourself to one color.

Gine K. of Stamp TV gave me this idea.  I couldn't wait to share what I'd tried with you!  :-)

I used the Cuddlebug folder "Stylized Flowers."

Apply ink from ink pad directly to the folder.
Remember to use the side of the folder that is flat with the images depressed.
Ink your folder, in this case I used CTMH Olive ink.
After you have inked the entire surface in a down ward motion  run your pad down the folder.
This gives you  a grain effect.
Run your folder through the Cuddelbug as usual.
After removing it from the folder you apply your next color.
This will color the flowers and vines.
I have always hesitated to do these projects because I didn't want my folders to stain.

Good News: ALL ink washed off the folder with out any problem.  No scrubbing needed.
This was so easy with little effort and I really like the effect.

Thanks for visiting...Smiles.....Joanie

Great! Thanks for being brave first. It's good to know the regular CTMH inks don't stain. :-) -Brenda

Great technique! I've never tried inking both parts before, will definitely need to try!

Wow, that is a neat effect. Looks like embossed metal. Very lovely.
