A Bright and Cheery Baby Card

Sure.  Pastels always work nicely for baby.  But bold and bright can be fun, too.  :-)  Here's a card I made using all CTMH products.  Well, except for the crochet thread.  :-)

The whale was inked in black and then softly (sorry you can't see it in the picture) shaded with colored chalk.  The whale and sentiment come from the "New Baby" stamp set.

Above is a close-up of the "water" coming out of the whale.  I stamped it directly on the card before mounting the whale with 3-D Foam Squares.  The other embellishments were purchased on clearance from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Christening Dress

After talking to my daughter this morning she suggested that the onesie template could easily be made into a dress.  So that is exactly what I did.  Instead of cutting out the circles for the legs I just gave the hem a gentle curve.  I also cut the shoulders with a slant up to the neck instead of straight across.  I had some wide ribbon so I used that to cover the card and then added the lace over the top of that.  A little baby pink cardstock for the background and some dry embossing with the cuddlebug gave it the baby girl look.

Thanks for checking us out today,  Smiles,  Joanie

How to Make a Onesie-Shaped Card

I got my inspiration from Deb Felts for this Onesie Card.  You will be making a template for this Onesie Card.  Remember that the top of the card (the shoulders) will be on the fold of the card.

Cut your card at 4 1/4" wide and 5" tall.  You will now measure down the side 1 1/2" on each side.
You will measure in 1/2" This makes the arm holes.  From the inside of the armhole draw a line down the side of the paper extending 2 1/2" making sure that at the 2 1/2" point you are at the papers edge.   Trim away paper.  Laying your paper on your mat, mark both the center top and center bottom of this paper.  This gives you the correct place in which to punch out your circles.  At the bottom of the paper (the crotch of the onesie) measure one inch from the center both to the right and left of the
center mark.

I used a 1 1/4" circle punch for the neck, cutting out a approximately 1/3 of the circle.  The leg openings I used a 2 1/2" circle punch.  Use the marks you made on the bottom to guide you and also along the edge as to where to place your punch.

I had never made one of these onesie cards before and really had fun with it.  Hope my instructions are of some use.  If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I will do my best to help .  Thanks for visiting,   Joanie

Baby Boy Card

This little man card is all boy.  I made my own chevron with Sky cardstock and a white gel pen.  The paper is a pad that I had picked up awhile ago.  Always fun to work with the Precious Moments stamps that I have.  They are so stinking cute, makes me smile just coloring them.

Have a great day...thanks for visiting....Joanie

Pin Wheel Card for Baby

I am having so much fun making these pin wheels I had to make another and this time it is for Baby.
Using a MS corner and border punch I added allot of paper lace.  The cute little Teddy bear is a button that I cut the shank off of.  Just the right little touch for this baby card.  Also a little work with my white gel pen and it was ready.

Always happy that you came by today.....have a great stamping day......Joanie

Chantilly Baby Boy Card

New patterned paper arrived on my doorstep today and I couldn't wait to tear into the package and play.

CTMH's Chantilly paper caught my eye right away and I just knew it would look good with Indian Corn Blue and Chocolate Cardstock.

Here's what I made in anticipation of my brothers first baby:

A touch of soft yellow ducky was the perfect thing.  After all these years, that old rubber stamp is still working great!  Thanks "Suzie's Zoo" creator!

Also used on this card were parts of CTMH's "A Bowwow" and "Whooooos Your Valentine" stamp set.

The images were chalked.

The stitching was done with the CTMH ruler, paper piercing kit, and a needle with some DMC thread.

If you look closely you will see that the card opens behind the picture mount and not the entire front--as is easy to assume.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

Baby Boy Card

A baby card for that new little boy.  I was looking through my cricut cartridges and found this little carriage in the Mother's Day 2010 Cartridge.  It's a cutie so I designed a card around it.  The color of ink and card was Sky (CTMH).  MS punches were an added element that I liked.  Plenty of half pearls, some lace, ribbon and the AP Cricut Cartridge for the frame around the sentiment.  Also used the cuddlebug for some dry embossing.

Have a wonderful weekend.....thanks for coming by......smiles.......Joanie

Just for Baby

I got the idea for this card as I was looking through some store bought cards that I have.  I sure had fun making this.  The little dog, cat, & duck are some random stamps that I have.  I used different bling for the jewel effect on the mobile.  Had some wire to make that arms on the mobile.  This just made me smile the whole time I was making it.

Thanks for stopping by today.....have a crafty weekend.....smiles.....Joanie
