Sandpaper, Brayer, Ink....Oh my!

I went to my ink carrousel and spotted Smoothie.  I hadn't use that color of pink in a little while and so I grabbed it---------thinking----------that's the color mood I'm in today.

Well, after sitting at my work space for a little bit, I came up with this card:

I used a Cuttlebug folder to create the background pattern on Smoothie cardstock.  CTMH "Hello Bloom" and "Look to the Light" stamp sets (inked in Vineyard Berry and one of the greens) finished the card.

To give the background a little pizzazz, I distressed it with sandpaper and then added Smoothie ink with a rubber brayer.  After swiping here and there with the sandpaper, again, I deemed it worthy for the card front and adhered it to the Colonial White card base.

Oh...................and if you're wondering what's in the middle of the flower........well, it's the top of a button that I cut the back side off of so it would lay flat.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by our little blog to take a look today.
Hugs and blessings,
Brenda

Love this verse and card! The embossing/sanding/brayering is wonderful!

what a beautiful card.
I have to say that smoothie is one of my least- favoured colours but here it is very soothing.
and i have that folder and seldom use it ,what a great way to spark it up.
I like the brayed method. sponging just doesn't do the same thing
