Easter Card For My Special Grand-daughter

I have made this card before and thought it would be allot of fun to make it again for Easter.  Some of the stamps were from my old stash that I have.  Always fun to bring those out and give them a new use.  This box card is allot of fun to make up and really so easy.  Give it a try.

Easter Lily

I used the CTMH stamp set Lovely Lily for the focal image.  I gave the flowers there color using my copics.  Always fun to play with those.  I added some dry embossing to the background.  The nestabilities from Spellbinder were used for the frame, flower image, and also the sentiment.

New Embossing Powder

Again on this card I used the Cherry Blossom stamp, but used a new embossing powder that I had picked up.  It is called Opaque Sparkle made by Recollections.  This powder has a  very pretty pale hint of pink to it with some round glitter.  It is called Vintage Pink.

The gray card with the pale pink gave the card a very soft and delicate look.  I'm happy with the new powder and will be adding more of it to my collection.  I have also recently purchased the scallop punch.
This punch was made by CTMH and I really like it because it has smaller scallop's than others.  I have a larger one but for smaller projects this one will be more in proportion.

Brick Wall Embossing Folder

Hi everyone, Just had to share this new folder with you.  It is made by Sizzix and is a great way to add texture in the background.  I just started inking it in brown shades and ended with Autumn Terracotta.
The stamped image is called Cherry Blossoms by Rubber Stampede.

For this card I just carried the colors through to the flowers and it seemed to work well together.

Father's Day Card for Husband

Here is a card I made today using two of my favorite new stamp sets from Miriam Prantner (sold through the "Neat and Tangled" company.

Special thanks to my friend and neighbor, Lluvia, who gave me the patterned paper pack from Michaels--which made for a fun masculine card.  And thanks to my mom, too, for the jute/twine, and washi tape.  And thanks to my dear friend, Ruby Sunshine, for the lace and inspiration for this card style.


This was such a fun card to create.  It has been far too long since I took time out of my day to sit and make a card.

House Mouse Fly away

Hello there, I was one lucky girl this Christmas.  My daughter gave me some darling House Mouse stamps.  I have been having fun coloring them with copics and getting a few cards together involving those little guys.  This one is called "Fly Away".   He or she is really enjoying the ride.

Rose Bud Card

I made these little Rose Buds from one inch circles cutting them in half inking them and rolling them.
This card makes me smile, its just soft and cheery.

Center Tulip Card

I again used the same shape as the previous card only using my favorite Tulips as the focal image.  I have a thing for pink and black together as you are well aware of by now.  Just can't get enough of the two colors together.

Cardinal Christmas Card

 

 

 

This card was made using the CTMH stamp set (To You and Yours Seasons & Nature).  I colored the Cardinal using Copic sketch markers, colors used were R35,R39,YG63,G99.  The CTMH color for the sentiment was Tulip.  The paper was also from CTMH from a few years ago, I think it was called Mistletoe.  The Spellbinders Nestabilities were used to cut out the cardinal, the Classic ovals and Lacey ovals.

 

This is my first Christmas card of the season.  Hope you have this stamp set.  The cardinal looks so pretty in those copic colors,  very bright and vibrant.

This time I had colored it in a very light blue with a little liquid glass applied to the upturned petals, and the center. 

Father's Day Card

Well this was something I had never tried before, and the outcome was a nice surprise.  Using aluminum foil from the kitchen I dry embossed the background in the diamond plate design.  I was going for a masculine card.   I glued aluminum foil to cardstock leaving an eight inch all the way around.  That covered the edges well and gave it a more finished look.  By placing the foil on cardstock the pattern from the cuttlebug held up better.

An "Off Center" Father's Day Card

Well, Father's Day snuck up on me this year.  Are you prepared?


Here's the card I made for my dad.  The front is made to look like part of a shirt and tie.  I opted for this look, because, well, the shirt and tie bit has been done before.  I wanted to change it up a bit, so I placed the "tie" off center.

 

 

Some of the layers are mounted in thin foam tape to add depth and really make it look like a tie is peeking out from under the shirt collar.

 

I used CTMH's "Later Sk8tr" patterned paper--along with Outdoor Denim, Garden Green, Lagoon, and White cardstock and ink.  I also used the "Tiny Typewriter Alphabet" from CTMH.  It might be retired by now.  If it is, and you don't have it, this stamp set is worth getting your hands on.  The font is fantastic for many different cards and I LOVE the extra shapes that come with it.  I cannot tell you just how many times I've used this stamp set--just for the tiny dot, circle, heart, etc.

Sunny Yellow Butterfly Card

On this butterfly card I used Sunny Yellow & Sunset to color the butterflies.  The sentiment was from the CTMH set called Bugs & Hugs, Seasons & Nature.  A spellbinders nestabilities was used for the two ovals.

The sentiment reads:  A butterfly goes wherever it pleases and it pleases wherever it goes.

Loving these Butterflies

This beautiful butterfly stamp was a gift from my very special Grandson.  So needless to say how very special it is.  Thank you so much young man!!  It was with joy in my heart and my water brush pen that I colored it.  I used (starting from light to dark) Heavenly Blue, Dutch Blue, Moonstruck, and then Sunset.  The background was also done using the water brush.  First I misted the card with water and then applied the Moonstruck ink and the Sunset.  It has the watercolor look, soft, and just what I needed to accent the main image.  Had a super time making this card.  I had some great inspiration and a smile on my face the whole project.  Hugs to my Grandson!!

How to Male a Split Negative Card

I always like black and white together so I thought this would be a fun card to make. 

You stamp your image on black paper using white embossing powder, and you stamp it again on white paper using black embossing powder. 

You cut both images in half remembering to cut in the same place each time. 

Then mount white card and then black card on the appropriate size square. 

This is where you will put your two flower half's together. 

Remember to put black flower on white and white on black.  You will get two cards when finished.

Lovely Lily

 

The Lily on this card was a stamp set from CTMH called Lovely Lily.  I colored it and then applied liquid glass for a very pretty finish which you really can't see in the picture.  I used a MS corner punch for the decorative circle.

Double Spellbinders Card

I had fun with the Spellbinders Oval & Scalloped Oval laying one on top of the other.  I used Fancy Tags Spellbinders to add decorative elements to the sides and top of the two ovals.  The stamp was a CTHM product.   The paper is something I had found at a local craft store a couple of years ago.

Pretty & Pink

 

I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities for this oval.  Paper was from CTMH, and the stamp was a find at a local craft store.  I embossed the rose with black to give it more definition.  Also inked ever so lightly with the ink color Blush, CTMH.  I'm sure having allot of fun with pink these days.
