How to Make the Flap Fold Card

This card offering encouragement is made with CTMH's Buzz and Bumble paper, Colonial White, and Cocoa cardstock.  I also used the "Be You" stamp from "Chairs to You" to stretch and make "Bee You" on the card.

There is one bee that I colored in with Goldrush marker (old style) and then glittered the wings with MS glitter glue.  It's kind of hard to see it in the picture, so I thought I'd point it out.  It makes the words "Bee You" that much more meaningful.  :-)

To make a Flap Fold Card that fits in a standard, A2 envelope (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"), you will need a piece of cardstock that is 12" x 4 1/4" in size.

Here's what it looks like on the inside.  There's plenty of room for a personal message.

Making the standard-sized Flap Fold Card is all in how you score it.  As you can see from the picture above, you will need to score your 12" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock at the 5 1/4" mark and the 10 3/4" mark.  I make one flap slightly shorter than the length of the card so that everything folds, closes, and remains closed easily.

Fold along the two score lines so that they flap into each other--with the shorter flap resting on top.  Make the folds crisp and help the card stay shut by running the bone folder along the folds.

Round the corners of the flap, if desired.  Now you're ready to decorate.

Cute card, I'm loving the buzz paper, like that flap fold too, I haven't done one of those in forever.
