This morning I had a little time to visit one of my favorite blogs, "Sooner Rather Than Later." There I found a simply wonderful card by Miriam Prantner. It was the inspiration for the card below. To view her blog post, please click here. She sponged on vellum and got a really neat look. It's worth checking out. :-)
Here's my version:
I had some scrap paper laying on my work table from the last few projects, so I squared up four of the pieces to create a "paned window" card. To balance the word "Celebrate," I used the deeper Ruby shade in the opposite corner and stamped the majority of the star image on that scrap.
At the last moment I added a touch of black to the star shape. I was hoping to tie in the thin black frame but I almost think the three black stars are too much. What do you think?
Supplies used:
Ruby, Slate, Champaigne, Cashmere, Black and White cardstock
Ruby, Slate, Champaigne, and Cashmere ink
"American Celebration" and "Somethin' Special" stamp sets
MS Glitter Glues
Paper Trimmer and Adhesive
Thanks for stopping by!
And a special thanks to Miriam for the inspiration. :-)
Blessings,
Brenda

This is fantastic! I LOVE it! It's so fun to see where inspiration takes you, I really love how you stamped the star. The glitter and the black accents really make it special. I think I like yours better than mine!
Love,love,love it!
So neat simple and really creative.
Your intuition about the black stars was "spot-on!" This is a great look (the shadow of your star beneath the coloured panel. I'll be CASEing your version of Miriam's card. Don't you love how the internet goes 'round and 'round?
I just LOVE this card!! Definitely not too much with the black stars!
