Deepest Sympathy Card

My dear friend's mother recently passed away, and I created this card to express my deepest sympathy.

The inspiration for this card was from the striped ribbon I had in my ribbon drawer.  Close To My Heart's Petal and Sweet Leaf inks, along with Colonial White and coordinating cardstocks, helped create the look I wanted.

I used two stamp sets: "Find Your Style" and "Card Chatter--Sympathy."  I also used the Cuttlebug to dry emboss on the background.

The lighter-colored butterflies were actually a result of me stamping the butterfly image off onto scratch paper.  I liked the image it created so much that I cut them out and added it to the card.

Thank you for stopping by.  Sending smiles, Joanie

  4. Joanie,
I love this card. As sad as it is to have to send a sympathy card, I've been looking for the perfect card to make. We don't always know when these things will happen, so I've wanted to make a few sympathy cards to have on hand, I am definatly going to copy this card. Thanks so much for sharing your work. I'm sure there are others out there that would love for them to have you show them how they can do this too.
